Kitchen equipment, Gombato Secondary School in Ukunda, Kenya (2011)

Ukunda is located on the southeast coast of Kenya, about 30 km south of Mombasa towards Tanzania. The Gombato School had only one hut with flints for cooking the children's school lunch (school lunch is compulsory). The teachers who cook the food at the same time often had severe burns on their arms.

Electricity and renovation of Naimbala School in Sri Lanka (2010)

Through our member Niko Jäger, the International Committee: Journalists Help e.V. supported the Naimbala School (Naimbala Bandathtara Maha Vidyalaya, Thihagoda) at the end of 2010 with money for necessary electrical installations and a renovation of the run-down school rooms.

This project was supported by the international committee: Aid from Journalists. Hewa lives with his family in the middle of the southtansanishian bush, not far from the border to Mozambique.
